Adaptive Minds offers a range of counselling, coaching, and psychological services. We are committed to promoting
optimal psychological well-being and performance for each of our clients.
In the process of achieving their goals and building the lives that they desire, individuals are often faced with many obstacles,
difficulties, and challenges to overcome. Clients of Adaptive Minds Counselling seek our services for many reasons. Our clients
may be looking to process significant events in their lives, gain better insight into themselves, cope better with challenging
emotions, reduce their distress, build new strengths and skills to improve their lives, or enhance their performance in sport,
work, or other domains. Counsellors and coaches at Adaptive Minds genuinely care about you and your well-being and are
ready to help you improve your life, today.
At Adaptive Minds, we believe in promoting the overall well-being of our clients. We look to balance strategies for reducing distress with strategies for enhancing happiness and well-being. A strong foundation of our philosophy is to incorporate the use of evidence-based psychological interventions with clients' beliefs about the change process and what strategies are the best personal fit for them. Another foundation of our philosophy is that eliminating obstacles to change is as important as providing tools and strategies for change. The vast majority of Adaptive Minds clients are intelligent and capable individuals who already have some knowledge of the things that they need to be doing differently in their lives. For example, clients may recognize that making better decisions around their diet and exercise or changing negative thinking patterns would probably improve their lives; yet, they are not doing these things. At Adaptive Minds, we believe that identifying and addressing the obstacles to change, or reasons why clients are not doing what they know that they should, is a critical focus of services. A final foundation of the Adaptive Minds philosophy is to learn from previous change attempts so that we can better support you. We believe that each individual is unique and that it is very important to learn from what has or hasn't worked for clients in the past. We will ask about your previous strategies for change and what has or hasn't worked; whether you have tried to change on your own or if you have seen other therapists or coaches in the past.
We understand the profound emotional, physical, functional, and relational toll that life stressors and painful emotions can have and we aim to help you improve your life as quickly and completely as possible.
